Skukuza Rest Camp
Our thoughts
Skukuza kept us well entertained even if it took us a moment to adjust to the busier feel of the campsite. We treated ourselves to delicious food and drinks at the iconic railway station and genuinely enjoyed the fun energetic side of staying at Skukuza. Its central location made it an excellent base for game drives and the convenience of having a shop, restaurant, swimming pool and even a doctor on site was a real comfort. While Skukuza might not have the intimacy of Kruger's smaller camps it delivers an unmatched mix of accessibility, comfort and incredible wildlife. For travellers who want a little bit of everything, convenience, good food, great sightings and the full Kruger buzz, Skukuza is a destination in its own right.

Visit the outdoor bar on the old train station platform for sundowners, it has a wonderfully relaxed social atmosphere. The deck at Lower Sabie is better for river views, but Skukuza's train restaurant pizzas are outstanding. The golf course is unique, lions and crocodiles have been spotted between holes!
