Lower Sabie Rest Camp

Our thoughts

Lower Sabie has an unpretentious allure that is hard to describe until you have sat on that river deck watching elephants cross below. The campsite itself could use some maintenance in places but the location more than makes up for it. Sunset Dam alone is worth the trip, we have never seen so many animals gathered in one place. Happy camping!

Overview

Lower Sabie might not boast flawless amenities, but its unpretentious allure combined with strategic positioning and abundant wildlife makes it a true gem in Kruger National Park. Set on the southern bank of the Sabie River with a large pool and a deck overlooking the water, Lower Sabie has one of the most scenic settings of any rest camp in Kruger. The nearby Sunset Dam is one of the finest wildlife viewing spots in the entire park. If you are ready for an adventure that goes beyond the glossy brochures, Lower Sabie might just steal your heart.
